YoshokuFood

Yoshoku refers to Japanese food which takes its inspiration either directly or indirectly from WesternFood. Said to be developed around the vast industrial and cultural shifts that characterized the MeijiPeriod of JapaneseHistory. Such food was originally introduced to create versions of WesternFood which were palatable to the audiences of the day, who were acclimated to a traditional JapaneseDiet high in SoyFood, Fish, and RiceFood.
