CupNoodles, #1

A very common form of InstantFood which consists of dried noodles (usually fried) to which hot water is usually added. Differentiated from other InstantNoodles by the packaging format of a cup, bowl, or tray for all-in-one preparation and consumption. Said to be invented by Momofuku Ando in 1971, this savory treat would soon become a trusted friend of NEETS worldwide.

Various types are available in commercial supermarkets, among them CupRamen, CupYakisoba, CupUdon, CupSomen.

Also notable is CupMeshi, which usually involves dried rice to which seasonings are mixed in.
