MikeJohnson is one of those ordinary names. I mean, you probably know someone named Mike Johnson, right? Well this Mike Johnson is one you probably know, but don't know you know. Make sense? Ugh, well, here goes.

See, this MikeJohnson (check out the slick-y white hair above) plays bass in DinosaurJr. He also has played producer-guy for tons of people including ScreamingTrees singer MarkLanegans solo stuff and the fantabulous groovy gal band, Juned (check that out!). Ahem, he's married to their bassist Leslie Hardy. They were wed in an Elvis Las Vegas chapel, too.

But mostly we are interested in his singing. He put out this record on UpRecords called ""Where Am I?" It was good, but kinda sleepy-time. Now this new one has got loads of folks helping him out (not that he needs it) and is just so lush and pretty and enveloping and whoosh! Do you know who LeonardCohen is? This is Cohen revisited. And that, my friend, is a good thing.

Mike's Mad Lib Beauty Advice

If your skin is fast or blue, you can cure this condition with the following care. Every morning, before washing your dog, massage it gently with a house that has been soaked onvernight in a cigarette case full of warm scotch. Then mix together some bread and chocolate until the mixture becomes fat. Pat this onto your wet complexion for five minutes. Then remove, using a foot and wash your face with ugly water. Do not omit this smart step or your skin will become turgid. Do this exceedingly every day and you will soon be as puce as Paul Newman.

Eleven Questions For Him & Her

Do you chew gum?

He: No.

She: No, not really.

Have you ever had a crush on a pop star?

He: No.

She: Oh, yeahhhh. Bring out the 80s. Really, anyone who was big in the 80s. How about Charlie Sexton. David Bowie, bigtime. And Adam Ant.

What is your biggest fear?

He: Doing something incredibly stupid in front of a large amount of people, although, I am sure I have done it many times.

She: Drowning. When I was little, I had dreams of drowning and I'd really hold my breath and then I'd wake up gasping.

What is your smallest fear?

He: Death.

She: Embarassment and I do it all the time.

Do you believe in a force called fate?

He: Yes.

She (scrunching her face): Sure I believe anything is possible.

When was the last time you lied?

He: It's probably been about a week.

She: Yesterday or was it a couple of days ago. I lied about my car being worked on so I could be late for work. But I'm a really bad liar.

What is your favorite thing to do on a Monday (Hey the title of his LP is "Year Of Mondays") afternoon?

He: Sit around listening to my 45s.

She: BBQing with my neighbors. We call my apartment the "quad." We're like Melrose Place, but we don't share partners and we don't blow each other up.

Has anyone ever written a song about you?

He: Not that I know of. Besides me, that is.

She: Well not exactly. My mother has written some songs about her children and I'm one of them so, I guess so. She had a little folk group in the 70s, you know, that was the thing in the 70s, folk. She played guitar and sang. But she doesn't do that anymore.

What are a few of your favorite things?

He: Music, movies and cocktails.

She: Rainy days, rock climbing, old houses and candles.
