Freely Understood Nootropic Protocol. Every datagram starts with a u16 for the 'type' to select a 'parser'

PRINCIPLES:

• no fucking bikeshedding past what's necessary to make something not braindead
• no beaurocracy
• flexibility, utter humanity.
• Use correct-endian, i.e. little.

IMPLEMENTATION:

• Should be usable on virtually any transport, over UDP on a pre-decided, ideallly non-privileged port is a good start

GyudonAddict: Some of my ideas take inspiration from ChaosNet, but unlike that I think the focus should be on a protocol entirely designed for a single, two-way communication.

PACKET STRUCTURE: u16[4] header, consisting of

• Type, designating the type of the packet
• Length, the length in bytes of the data
• Number, the index of the packet
• Receipt, the highest packet number that's been received

A packet can be controlled or uncontrolled, with a packet number of 1-65535 or 0, respectively. The control programs on each side will try to manage the well-ordering and retransmission of controlled packets.

The rest of the packet is data, which has yet to be decided.
